Levy County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida. Its county seat is Bronson, Florida. Levy County was created in 1845 and was named for David Levy, who served as a member of the United States Senate from 1845 to 1851 and from 1855 to 1861. Levy County has a total area of approximately 1,412 square miles of which 79% is land and 21% water. As of the 2000 census, there were 34,450 people, 13,867 households, and 9,679 families residing in Levy County, FL.
